BAKU: A group of officers from Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense, veterans of the Patriotic War, and family members of Major General Polad Hashimov visited his grave to honor his birthday, as confirmed by the Ministry of Defense to APA.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Major General Polad Hashimov achieved his rank by diligently executing his duties and missions during combat operations aimed at defending Azerbaijan. On July 14, 2020, he was martyred while bravely countering enemy attacks and provocations near the Tovuz district. In recognition of his sacrifice, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan posthumously awarded him the title of “National Hero of Azerbaijan” on December 9, 2020.
During the memorial ceremony, officers from the Ministry of Defense placed flower bouquets at Hashimov’s grave on behalf of the ministry’s leadership. The gathering paid tribute to his memory with deep respect and reverence, marking the significance of his contributions to the nation.
