The 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change - COP28 has today kicked off in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and an Azerbaijani delegation is also attending the conference, APA reports. President of COP28 climate talks, the UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology Sultan Al Jaber, as well as Executive Secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Simon Stiell and Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Jim Skea addressed the opening ceremony. The main topics of the conference, to run until December 12, include the transition to clean energy, climate finance, nature-based solutions, social inclusivity and other issues.
