Baku: The forces of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan have successfully evacuated a total of 53 people from various flooded regions across the country. This operation follows urgent measures initiated in response to the heavy rainfall and strong winds, which have impacted multiple areas.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) is actively addressing the aftermath of the severe weather conditions. Ongoing operations involve draining and removing water from inundated zones, assisting citizens in need, and implementing necessary safety measures. These efforts are concentrated in the cities of Baku, Ganja, Sumgayit, Mingachevir, and Shirvan, as well as the districts of Khachmaz, Shabran, and Siyazan.
Significant progress has been made in Baku and the districts of Absheron, Gobustan, and Shamakhi, where water removal and evacuation tasks have been completed. Among the 53 evacuees, 19 are children.
The Ministry has confirmed that operations will continue until all affected areas are secured. In addition, the MES forces have successfully drained water from critical locations, including the 'Baghirov Bridge' tunnel in Baku's Narimanov district.
