Paris: The delegation led by Minister of Science and Education of Azerbaijan, Emin Amrullayev, participated in the UNESCO "Global Ministerial Dialogue on Science Diplomacy" and met with Lidia Brito, Assistant Director-General for Natural Sciences at UNESCO. The Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan informed APA about this engagement, highlighting the significance of the discussions held on March 25.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the meeting focused on the implementation of joint projects in the field of natural sciences and explored opportunities for expanding institutional partnerships. The dialogue emphasized collaboration and the potential for future cooperative projects.
Moreover, discussions included the inclusion of student climate literacy indicators in the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA), as agreed upon by the Ministry of Science and Education and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) within the framework of COP29. The parties explored possible cooperation opportunities in this area, recognizing the importance of incorporating climate literacy in educational assessments.
Additionally, the meeting evaluated the perspectives for developing international experience exchange in the STEAM project. This initiative aims to enhance science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics education through collaborative global efforts.
The Azerbaijani delegation also held talks with Azzedine El Midaoui, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation of the Kingdom of Morocco. The discussions focused on current cooperation and future development prospects in the fields of science and higher education between Azerbaijan and Morocco, aiming to strengthen bilateral relations and foster educational advancements.
