Baku: Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov met with Gilbert Houngbo, Director-General of the International Labour Organization (ILO), heading a delegation, APA reports, citing the Cabinet of Ministers' press service.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the meeting highlighted the successful long-term partnership between Azerbaijan and the ILO. Discussions centered on the nation's commitment to enhancing social welfare, a principal focus of Azerbaijan's state policy. Notable advancements have been achieved in social protection through four social reform packages, with a fifth package initiated in January aiming to benefit 3 million individuals.
The talks also covered ongoing reforms targeting increased labor productivity, enhancement of labor rights in line with international standards, reduction of informal employment, and the expansion of employment programs. The meeting concluded with a review of the agenda for Azerbaijan-ILO partnership and an exploration of future cooperation opportunities.
