Azerbaijani Prosecutor General Attends Commonwealth Conference in Mombasa

Mombasa: Azerbaijani Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev attended the 23rd Conference of Attorneys General of the Commonwealth of Nations member states in Mombasa, which began on June 10. The Attorney General's Office announced that Aliyev participated as a special guest, underlining Azerbaijan's active role in international legal cooperation.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the conference opened with speeches from the heads of the Kenyan and Australian public prosecutors' offices. They commended the Azerbaijani delegation's participation and emphasized the importance of Azerbaijan's contributions to the field. During the event, Kamran Aliyev chaired a significant session focused on national strategies for the early prevention of terrorism, highlighting Azerbaijan's dedication to international collaboration in combating terrorism and organized crime.

Kamran Aliyev discussed Azerbaijan's measures against terrorism under President Ilham Aliyev's leadership. The session included addresses from the Attorney General of Uganda, Jane Abodo, South Australia's Martin Kinton, and Jennifer Riedel from the British High Commission in Nairobi. The discussions provided a platform for sharing national experiences on preventive intervention mechanisms targeting radicalization and violent extremism.

Throughout the conference, Kamran Aliyev engaged in bilateral meetings with Prosecutor Generals from the United Kingdom, Australia, Uganda, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Seychelles, and other nations. These discussions focused on exchanging expertise in crime prevention, enhancing legal cooperation, and strengthening the contractual-legal framework. Kamran Aliyev also interacted with local media representatives in Kenya.

The delegation has concluded its working visit to Kenya.
