Azerbaijani repatriated 11 citizens from Syria

On October 31, 2023, 11 citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, including 9 children and 2 women, who were detained in camps located in the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic, were repatriated to country As a result of phased and coordinated measures taken by the government of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the "Rules for Repatriation and rehabilitation of minor citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan living in difficult conditions in a Foreign Country" approved by Decree No. 2336 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated October 28, 2023, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.

First of all, the location, identity, and citizenship of the Republic of Azerbaijan of the repatriates were determined, and their passage to the territory of the Republic of Türkiye was ensured.

Representatives of relevant state institutions responsible for the repatriation of Azerbaijani citizens from Iraq and Syria were sent to the Republic of Turkey, and preliminary medical and psychological examination of the repatriates was carried out. Our citizens were provided with return certificates and flight tickets to the Republic of Azerbaijan by the relevant coordination work carried out by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Türkiye.

On October 31, 2023, the mentioned citizens were repatriated to our country accompanied by a delegation.
