Baku: Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover reached $20.966 billion in the first five months of this year, marking a 13.7% increase compared to the same period last year.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this data was reported by the State Customs Committee.
Despite the increase in trade turnover, Azerbaijan experienced a decrease in exports by 1.2%, totaling $11 billion. In contrast, imports surged by 36.5%, reaching $9.9648 billion. The trade balance remained positive at $1.0363 billion, though this is 3.7 times lower than the surplus recorded during the same period last year.
