Azerbaijan’s Khankandi Marks First ‘Last Bell’ Celebration in 37 Years

Khankandi: An event dedicated to the "Last Bell" was held at secondary school No. 4 named after N. Ganjavi in Khankendi city, marking the first celebration of its kind in 37 years. This significant occasion was organized by the Public Relations Department of the Restoration, Construction and Management Service in Khankendi city, Aghdere, and Khojaly districts.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the "Last Bell" event, which was not held during the graduation day in 1988, was finally celebrated for the graduates of the same year at the secondary school. The ceremony was attended by Sabuhi Gahramanov, Deputy Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Khankendi, Aghdere, and Khojaly districts, along with employees of the Ministry of Science and Education, school staff, students' parents, families of martyrs, and war veterans.

The event commenced with the playing of the National Anthem, followed by a minute of silence to honor the memory of martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Azerbaijan's territorial integrity. Sabuhi Gahramanov addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of educational initiatives under President Ilham Aliyev's leadership. He highlighted the role of these initiatives in nurturing literate and patriotic young citizens for Azerbaijan's future. Gahramanov also mentioned that ample opportunities have been provided for young people to pursue studies in priority fields at leading global higher education institutions.

The "Last Bell" celebration continued with musical and artistic performances by the schoolchildren, adding to the event's significance. This year, 14 students graduated from secondary school No. 4 named after N. Ganjavi in Khankendi.
