Baku: Azerbaijan's State Migration Service, in collaboration with the COP29 Organizing Committee and the COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company, has revealed a series of initiatives aimed at simplifying migration registration procedures and increasing awareness, as well as providing flexible solutions for potential issues related to entering and exiting the country. Ulvi Aliyev, the head of the International Cooperation Department of the State Migration Service, discussed these measures during a recent briefing. According to Azeri-Press news agency, an Agreement between the Government of Azerbaijan and the Secretariat of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change has led to an extension of the registration requirement for COP29 participants from 15 days to 30 days. This extension applies to foreigners and non-citizens arriving with a COP29 visa or without a visa following registration with the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. Technical and organizational preparations have been made to ensure the sm ooth and unobstructed passage of foreign participants, particularly those entering Azerbaijan without a visa. Additionally, Ulvi Aliyev announced plans for a high-level panel discussion focusing on human displacement in the context of climate change, scheduled for November 18, to be held in conjunction with the International Organization for Migration.
