Baku: Azerbaijan's economy recorded a notable growth in its non-oil sector, with a 3.3% increase noted in the first four months of 2025. This growth contributed to a total Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of AZN 39 billion 305.8 million, reflecting a 0.9% rise compared to the same period last year.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, citing the State Statistical Committee while the non-oil and gas sector experienced growth, the oil and gas sector saw a 3.5% decrease in value added. The GDP distribution across various sectors highlighted the industrial sector's dominance at 37.3%, followed by trade and motor vehicle repair at 9.9%, transportation and warehousing at 7.0%, and construction at 5.9%. Other contributions included agriculture, forestry, and fishing at 3.3%, accommodation services and catering at 2.8%, and information and communication at 1.8%. Additionally, other sectors along with taxes on products and imports made up 21.7% and 10.3% of the GDP, respectively.
The GDP per capita for this period was reported to be AZN 3841.8, indicating the economic output per individual in the country.
