Baku: President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has declared that his nation has successfully implemented United Nations Security Council resolutions that remained unfulfilled for the past 30 years. He made this announcement during the opening ceremony of the World Leaders Climate Action Summit at COP29 on November 12, as reported by APA. According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev emphasized the significant achievements of Azerbaijan despite the challenges posed by Armenia's long-standing occupation. He highlighted that nearly 20% of Azerbaijan's internationally recognized territories had been occupied for three decades, resulting in the ethnic cleansing and deportation of 1 million Azerbaijanis. Despite these adversities, Azerbaijan has managed to develop a strong, self-sufficient economy and maintain an independent policy. President Aliyev also reflected on the country's recent historical milestones. He noted that four years ago, Azerbaijan celebrated its victory in the Second Garabagh War, and j ust last year, the nation fully restored its sovereignty in line with the UN Charter, international law, and the Security Council resolutions. He proudly stated that Azerbaijan implemented these resolutions independently, restoring international law, justice, and ending the Armenian occupation.
