Baku: Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev has met with the Director-General of the International Commission on Missing Persons, Kathryne Bomberger, the Press Service of the Prosecutor General's Office told APA. Prosecutor General Aliyev, greeting the guests, briefed the wide-scale reforms carried out in the prosecutor's office under the instructions and recommendations of President Ilham Aliyev noting the positive cooperation between the ICMP and his office since 2023.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, it was noted that Armenia did not provide detailed information, emphasizing 3,983 Azerbaijanis who went missing as a result of Armenia's military aggression against Azerbaijan were killed by being subjected to torture and buried in mass graves and their fate was not clarified until now.
Kathryne Bomberger, expressing her gratitude for the meeting, stated that the Commission could contribute to the creation of a database for missing persons in Azerbaijan, the expansion of the legal framework, the enhancement of local experts' professionalism, and the construction of modern laboratories and praised the efforts made by Azerbaijan in this direction in recent years.
The meeting, held in an efficient discussion format, also included an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
