Azerbaijan’s railroads chief holds discussions with Iranian counterpart

BAKU: The construction of a railroad line between Azerbaijan and Iran, which will connect East Zangezur and Nakhchivan, has been discussed, Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC Rovshan Rustamov wrote on X, Trend reports. 'Within the framework of an official visit to Iran, a meeting with the head of the railroad administration of this country Jabbar Ali Zakeri was held. The topic of our discussions was the construction of a railroad line, which will provide a direct land connection between the East Zangezur Economic Region and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan through Iran, as well as strengthening cooperation on the North-South corridor. The steps taken by Azerbaijani Railways to develop both routes and plans were brought to attention,' the publication reads. Source: Trend News Agency
