In transboundary rivers, water level increased by 40 cm at the Kura-Giragkasaman station, 19 cm at the Araz-Givrag station, and 7 cm at the Ganykh-Jalayir station. Due to the observed heavy and intense rainfall, floods were recorded in several rivers: the Gilgilchay in the Shabran district, Gudiyalchay in Quba, Girdimanchay in Ismayilli, Damiraparanchay in Gabala, Aghsuchay in Aghsu, Pirsaatchay in Gobustan, and Gabirri River in the Samukh district.
It is expected that the unstable and intermittently rainy weather will continue until April 17, with intense and heavy rainfall expected throughout April 16. As a result, water levels in rivers across the country will remain high, and flood and overflow events are expected to continue in some rivers of the Greater and Lesser Caucasus, as well as the Lankaran-Astara region.
