Azerbaijan’s state budget revenues from oil & gas sector rose by up to 48%

In January-September of 2024, revenues of Azerbaijan's state budget from oil and gas sector amounted to AZN 13.2065 billion, which is AZN 176.1 million or 1.3% less in comparison with the forecast, but AZN 4.2603 billion or 47.6% higher compared to the same period in 2023, APA-Economics reports citing the Ministry of Finance. In the first nine months of 2024, in the state budget, 27.4% or AZN 3,620.8 million of revenues from the oil and gas sector fell to the share of revenues from tax authorities, while 72.6% or AZN 9,585.7 million of the revenues of the oil and gas sector fell to the share of transfers from the the State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) to the state budget. According to the Ministry, 47.8% or AZN 1.7297 billion of oil and gas revenues received through tax authorities came from profit taxes from the Shah Deniz field, 36.8% or AZN 1.3331 billion were paid by the State Oil Company in relevant taxes, and 15.4% or AZN 558 million were from profit taxes related to the Azeri-Chirag -Gunashli project.
