Baku Airport Prepares for Increased Passenger Turnover During COP29.

Baku: Heydar Aliyev International Airport is gearing up for a significant increase in passenger turnover during the upcoming COP29 event. Teymur Hasanov, Director of Heydar Aliyev International Airport, announced during a briefing that the airport will operate under an enhanced working regime, APA-Economics reports. According to Azeri-Press news agency, Hasanov emphasized the engagement of additional staff and volunteers to manage the influx of passengers, and a dedicated working group has been established to oversee all related processes. Currently, Baku airport handles a daily passenger turnover ranging from 18,000 to 20,000. However, during COP29, this number is expected to rise to between 25,000 and 27,000. Hasanov further stated that under the enhanced regime, the airport has the capacity to accommodate between 45,000 and 50,000 passengers daily.
