The Baku Book Center hosted Friday the presentation of the manual “A grammar of contemporary Azerbaijani.” Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and Arzu Aliyeva, Head of the Baku Media Center, as well as well-known science, culture and public figures of Azerbaijan attended the event. The authors of the book, which was published with the support of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, are linguist Sabina Aliyeva and Vice-Rector for International Relations of Azerbaijan University of Languages Jala Garibova. Addressing the event, Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, said that the authors of the manual started working on it for almost 5 years. Emphasizing that Azerbaijani compatriots residing abroad consider the preservation and development of the Azerbaijani language as a principal priority, the committee chairman mentioned the “Azerbaijani houses” established abroad under the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliy eva. The other speakers, including linguist Sabina Aliyeva, Vice-rector for International Relations of Azerbaijan University of Languages Jala Garibova, Rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages Kamal Abdulla, Director of the Monitoring Center at the State Language Commission Sevinj Aliyeva, and Academician, Director of the National Azerbaijan Literature Museum named after Nizami Ganjavi Rafael Huseynov highlighted the importance of the books on the Azerbaijani language, describing these publications as a service to the Motherland.
