Baku: A conference titled 'Ancient Texts and Classical Sources Expose Armenian Forgeries and Fabrications, or Ethno-Hay Deceit and Intrigues About Azerbaijani Territories' was held in Baku on April 22. This event was jointly organized by the Intellectual Property Agency and the Western Azerbaijan Community, attracting officials, representatives of various organizations, and staff from higher education institutions.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Kamran Imanov, Chairman of the Board of the Intellectual Property Agency, highlighted the conference's focus on intellectual property, books, and the protection offered by copyright laws. He emphasized the importance of supporting creativity, promoting a culture of intellectual property, and exposing what he described as Armenian forgeries and fabrications. He also shared that in 2024, 660 works by 346 authors have been registered electronically, with a total of 16,228 works and related rights officially registered since 1996.
Aziz Alakbarli, Chairman of the Western Azerbaijan Community, spoke about the need to convey the truths about Western Azerbaijan to the world. He asserted that Armenians have historically falsified sources related to the region and misled the international community. He stressed the importance of erasing these misconceptions to deliver the accurate narrative of Western Azerbaijan globally.
During the conference, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Western Azerbaijan Community. The event also featured speeches focused on preventing Armenian forgeries. The conference was dedicated to World Book and Copyright Day.
