BAKU: August 26. Baku has hosted an auto rally and classic car exhibition organized by the Azerbaijan Automobile Federation (AAF), Baku City Circuit Operating Company, and Dreamland Golf Club, with Nazar Holdings as the general sponsor, Trend reports. The traditional procession began with a display of registered classic cars, including vehicles from the permanent exhibition at the Heydar Aliyev Center, showcased in the Seaside National Park. The event was attended by Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva, President of AAF Anar Alakbarov, Baku city Mayor Eldar Azizov, along with various celebrities and city residents. Cars manufactured before 1984 participated in the rally, the oldest being a 1929 Mercedes Benz Gazelle. The parade featured unique retro cars from different eras, evoking nostalgia among spectators. The rally started in Seaside National Park, with classic cars driving through the city’s central streets. The streets of Baku were adorned with a caravan of classic cars fro m various countries and years, each attracting attention with its distinct appearance and rich history. These cars brought to life scenes reminiscent of old movies, much to the delight of city residents, guests, and classic car enthusiasts. The classic cars passed through Seaside National Park, Oilmen Avenue, White City, Heydar Aliyev Center, Heydar Aliyev Avenue, Airport Highway, and Zykh Highway, finishing at Dreamland Golf Club. An exhibition of the classic cars was held at Dreamland Golf Club, where attendees could take photos of themselves with the vehicles and learn about their history and unique features. Awards were given for “The Oldest Car,” “The Most Unique Car,” and “The Most Colorful Outfit.” The event also featured a concert and entertainment program with performances by popular singers, including Aysel, Dilara Kazimova, Xayyam Nisanov, Elnur and Nigar, Murad Arif, Nura Suri, Rilaya Huseynzade, and Zamig Huseynov. The event is part of a series of activities in Azerbaijan that engage motorist s and promote the development of motorsports, with the Azerbaijan Automobile Federation playing a significant role in this direction.
