At a cabinet meeting on January 7, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov recalled that a number of large facilities will be commissioned in the new year.
“Among them is the important for us administrative center of the Akhal velayat, where the work has entered the final stage,” the state information agency TDH quotes the head of state .
At a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on December 17, 2021, it was reported that more than 2,500 large buildings and structures for industrial and social purposes are being erected in Turkmenistan. Their total cost is $ 37 billion. Based on the results of the analysis carried out by the khyakimliks of Ashgabat and the velayats, ministries and departments together with the UIET, a list of facilities scheduled for opening in 2022 was compiled.
For the timely and high-quality completion of the planned work, the President instructed to hold weekly meetings to promptly consider and resolve emerging issues.
Deputy Prime Minister Chary Gylydzhov , who is in charge of the Akhal velayat, was appointed the head of the relevant commission , and Deputy Prime Minister Serdar Berdimuhamedov , responsible for the financial component of the work being carried out, and Deputy Prime Minister Charymyrat Purchekov, responsible for construction work , were appointed as its members .
Berdimuhamedov stressed that in order to resolve emerging issues, members of the commission can invite any leader to a meeting, and he himself, if possible , will take part in several meetings. They have been instructed to conduct them from next week.
The last time the president inspected the construction of the new city was on October 21, 2021. Then TDH noted that "the pace of work on the construction of a new administrative center is currently increasing."
The head of state was shown the projects planned for the construction of a children's health and rehabilitation center, a local history museum, a circus and other new buildings in the city. The President also approved the designs of roofing sheets, bus stops, lanterns, interior wall upholstery, spectator seats, carpet and glass shades on the windows.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov regularly speaks about the need to accelerate the construction of a new city. At a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on October 8, he once again instructed Deputy Prime Minister Charymyrat Purchekov , who is in charge of the construction, industrial and energy complex, "to accelerate the construction of residential buildings, settlements, especially the administrative center of the Akhal velayat." The president announced his intention to build a new city in October 2018. The first stage of construction was planned to be implemented in 2019-2021, and the second - in 2020-2022.
