Berdimuhamedov approves the program of the opening ceremony of the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat highway section

At a Cabinet meeting on October 28, Deputy Prime Minister for Trade Chary Gylydzhov reported on preparations for the opening ceremony of the Ashgabat-Tejen section of the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat autobahn.

According to the state information agency TDH , the event is scheduled for October 29. The official presented to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov a draft program of the solemn ceremony, during which its participants will get acquainted with the work of the Control Center, transport service areas, payment terminals, service facilities and an electronic security and control system.

The head of state noted that the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat autobahn must fully meet the requirements of international standards and instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to provide all conditions for the opening ceremony of its section at a high level.

Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications Mammetkhan Chakyev said that for "wide use of the transit possibilities of the road", taking into account the intercity bus routes Ashgabat-Kaakhka, Ashgabat-Dushak, Ashgabat-Tejen, it is planned to organize road transport of transit goods in the directions of Turkmenbashi-Artyk, Turkmenbashi-Serakhs , Turkmenbashi-Ymanazar, Turkmenbashi-Farab.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that the commissioning of this section of the road will increase the throughput of the roads of Turkmenistan, the quality and efficiency of logistics services, as well as increase the volume of transit cargo transportation through the territory of Turkmenistan.

The President inspected the construction of this section of the autobahn in May from a helicopter.

The construction of the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat autobahn is carried out by Türkmen Awtoban CJSC , and the subcontractors are the individual enterprises Nusaýýollary and Hyzmat merkezi, as well as the economic companies Edermen and Altyn nesil. The total cost of the project is $ 2.3 billion.

The completion dates for the second (Tejen-Mary) and third (Mary-Turkmenabat) sections are scheduled for December 2022 and December 2023, respectively.

On March 26, Deputy Prime Minister for Trade Chary Gylydzhov reported on the creation of a passenger transport enterprise "Transport Services" on the basis of the Turkmen Roads joint-stock company, which will establish intercity passenger traffic on this route and provide services to the population.
