On March 9, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the head of the ARETI International Group of Companies, a member of the steering committee of the International Cycling Union (UCI) Igor Makarov . The main topic of discussion was the preparation for the World Track Cycling Championship, which is scheduled for October 13-17, the state information agency TDH reports .
The event, which will be attended by representatives of 186 countries, is the Ministry of Sports and Youth Policy of Turkmenistan, the Cycling Federation and the International Cycling Union (UCI).
Makarov assured Berdymukhamedov that the Championship would be held at the highest level.
The publication notes that “in a difficult situation due to the coronavirus pandemic,” all athletes arriving in Turkmenistan will be vaccinated. There will also be extensive advocacy work to promote cycling and cycling as a sustainable mode of transport.
Recall that on January 20, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the capital's Olympic town, where he got acquainted with the preparations for the upcoming international tournaments. Then the head of state said that athletes will be vaccinated with vaccines of their choice.
