President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov arrived in Dushanbe to attend a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO member states as a guest of honor.

Upon arrival, the head of state held talks with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon , the press service of the latter reported .

The parties considered the development of bilateral relations in promising areas of industry, agriculture and transport, as well as the use of the seaport of Turkmenistan for the transportation of goods to Tajikistan and the expansion of cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere.

The leaders of the two states also discussed the topic of regional security - the political and military situation in neighboring Afghanistan.

The State Information Agency TDH and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan have not yet announced the meeting.
