Berdimuhamedov inspected the construction sites of the capital from a helicopter and launched the construction of the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat autobahn section

On February 17, Acting President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov flew around Ashgabat in a helicopter and launched the construction of the second stage of the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat highway, the state information agency TDH reports .

First, the Acting President of Turkmenistan inspected the facilities under construction from a helicopter, including the Makhtumkuli Fragi cultural and park complex, a reservoir for collecting rain and mudflows, which is being built by Vozrozhdenie JSC, the Gurtly residential complex and the Shopping and Entertainment Center near Ashgabat International Airport, where the hotel is located Karakum.

The helicopter flight ended at the initial section of the Tejen-Mary road of the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat autobahn. There, the acting president also inspected the fields and talked with a machine operator and a tenant farmer who sow potatoes.

At the Tejen-Mary section, a demonstration of construction equipment was arranged for Berdimuhamedov. After the acting president, he spoke with the builders.

Vice Prime Minister for Trade Chary Gylydzhov and head of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Dovran Khudaiberdiev reported on the projects for the construction of the first stage of the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat highway.

TDH writes that with the commissioning of the first stage of this route, the volume of traffic in Turkmenistan has increased. In addition, social facilities, car services and payment terminals will be built along the road, as well as underground passages for animals .

The President's Executive Office showed diagrams of the types and locations of crossings over the railway tracks, mudflow diversions, as well as bridges that will be built in Mary Velayat across the Karakum River. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov corrected the projects.

Then the President's OI drove along the road and stopped at a gas station near the cultural and entertainment center "Kerwensaraý", where "he got acquainted with the working conditions of gas station workers." After inspecting the facilities, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also returned to the capital by helicopter.

On October 29 last year, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov opened a 203 km section of the Ashgabat-Tejen road from Ashgabat to Turkmenabat. It is being built by UIET member Türkmen Awtoban JSC, which is due to complete the $2.3 billion project in December 2023. The autobahn with a total length of 600 kilometers consists of six lanes.
