According to the state information agency TDH , at the Ashgabat airport, the head of state drew attention to "the peculiar features of lighting the airport and its environs." According to him, "the original design element of the capital is the night illumination, which gives it a special charm."

The head of state noted that every corner of the city, in particular, objects for various purposes should be equipped with appropriate lighting systems. The instructions are addressed to Deputy Prime Minister Charymyrat Purchekov , who is in charge of the construction, industrial and energy complex .

“Much attention should be paid to the design both in the capital and throughout the country of buildings and structures, including those related to the road transport infrastructure, elements of their lighting,” the president said.

The head of Turkmenistan noted that in recent years, "innovative technologies and digital systems, which give the city a unique flavor" are actively used in the night panorama of Ashgabat. In this regard, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave instructions "for an integrated approach to the design of Ashgabat, the creation of a kind of palette through various lighting solutions."

During an inspection of the capital in February, the president expressed dissatisfaction with the coverage of the capital. "Some road sections are not illuminated, there are cases of power outages in houses," the head of state said at the time.

However, already in June, "taking into account the increased use of air conditioners and cooling devices, and as a result, the increase in energy consumption, demanded to ensure energy savings in street lighting and advertising stands."
