At a working meeting on February 15, the acting president Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov touched upon the construction of new facilities in Ashgabat, the state information agency TDH reports .
Hyakim of Ashgabat Rakhym Gandimov reported on the implementation of instructions to speed up the construction of facilities.
However, the acting president, after hearing the report, expressed dissatisfaction with the speed of construction work in the city and ordered to follow the deadlines.
Deputy Prime Minister Charymyrat Purchekov , who is in charge of the construction, industrial and energy complex, also reported on measures to increase the pace of construction and ensure the quality of facilities being built in Ashgabat.
Then, Deputy Prime Minister for Science and Education, Health and Sports Sapardurdy Toyliyev reported on the progress of the large-scale construction of new buildings of the country's universities. Which ones, TDH does not specify.
Perhaps, we are talking about the construction of a new complex of buildings of the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering. The project developed by university students was presented to Berdimuhamedov a month ago, but he was not satisfied, made a number of amendments and "constructive comments" and ordered the project to be redone.
Judging by the plans shown, the university will be located on Kemine Street opposite the railway depot, where the old glass factory used to be.
In July 2021, when Berdimuhamedov was shown the facilities planned for construction in Ashgabat, it was proposed to build social housing on this territory.
Now there are private residential buildings that will need to be demolished in order to build a university. Four-story residential buildings located here, judging by both projects (social housing and university), will remain in place.
It should be noted that the opening of new facilities scheduled for various anniversaries is often delayed in Turkmenistan. For example, the opening of the cultural and park complex Magtymguly Fragi is delayed for a year. A year later, a new Government Tribune was built , which was inaugurated by the President in September 2021.
On February 10, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov inspected and approved the projects of facilities under construction and planned for reconstruction in Ashgabat.
