On October 9, within the framework of the EXPO-2020 world exhibition, the National Day of Turkmenistan was held in Dubai, where the country's achievements and products were presented to the public.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov went to the UAE to participate in the event .
At the exhibition, the head of state was accompanied by the UAE Minister for International Cooperation, General Director of EXPO-2020, Rimal Al Hashimi .
A two-storey building with an area of 976 square meters was allocated to Turkmenistan for the demonstration of goods, the state information agency TDH reports .
The entire first floor was allocated for the "virtual panorama", writes TDH. The state television report showed that videos about Turkmen horses, carpets, historical and architectural monuments, marble buildings in Ashgabat and so on were projected onto the walls and floor of the room.
The exposition presents books by Berdymukhamedov, national jewelry, carpets, musical instruments, textile products, Turkmen medicines based on local raw materials and plants.
Separately, the president told Rimal Al Hashimi, who accompanied him, about licorice, "the healing properties of which have been known for hundreds of years," and about a new Turkmen product based on the root of the plant.
The head of Turkmenistan did not mention the antiviral properties of licorice and its use to combat coronavirus, although he had previously stated that the plant could be an effective remedy for COVID-19.
Among other export products, construction materials, products of oil and gas industries, the possibilities of transport and transit infrastructure and tourism, as well as domestic electronics - LED lamps, televisions, telephones, and tablets were demonstrated.
After inspecting the pavilion, Berdimuhamedov held talks with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Presidential Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan .
The parties discussed investment projects in the gas chemical, financial and transport sectors, which are planned to be implemented in Turkmenistan.
