January 11, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Turkmenistan Lyusiu Wilde ( Lucia Wilde ), who presented his credentials to the head of state, according to gosinformagentstvo TDH .
The parties discussed issues related to the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and environmental spheres, as well as ensuring energy security, diversifying energy supplies to world markets and resolving the situation in Afghanistan .

About appointment of Lucia Wilde became known in early October. Before her, this post was held by Hugh Stanley Philpott . Wilde previously worked for the UK Department of Health and Human Services. From 2008-2011 she worked at the British Embassies in Kabul and Baghdad.
