On November 18, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Jabbarov Mikail Chingiz oglu , the state information agency TDH reported .

The parties discussed cooperation in the political, trade and economic, transport and communication, scientific, technical, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

TDH notes that "mutual investments are one of the factors in expanding a fruitful partnership."

"We should continue to provide appropriate economic, financial and legal conditions for entrepreneurial activity , the organization of forums that contribute to strengthening contacts between the business circles of both countries," the newspaper writes.

Berdimuhamedov and Chingiz oglu also discussed the topic of transport. "The geographical location of the two states creates favorable preconditions for the implementation of projects to form transport and transit corridors, providing profitable land and sea routes for the transportation of goods," the newspaper notes.

Touching upon the topic of energy, the parties noted that it is strategic for the national economies of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, and the development of this sector for both states possessing the largest oil and gas fields is a priority.

Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan intensified their contacts after signing an agreement on joint development of the disputed Dostluk field (formerly Serdar / Kapaz) in the Caspian Sea.
