On February 16 , the Interim President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Permanent Representative of the United Nations Development Program in Turkmenistan Narine Sahakyan , the state information agency TDH reports .
Narine Sahakyan handed over her credentials and noted "the dynamics of interaction between Turkmenistan and UNDP, which has recently increased significantly, as evidenced by a number of projects implemented in various fields."
“I worked here 10 years ago and today I returned to hospitable Turkmenistan in a new capacity and with the feeling that I had returned home,” the diplomat was quoted by TDH.
On December 4, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov received Narine Sahakyan, who replaced Natia Natsvlishvili in this post .
Last October, UNDP announced the launch of the COVID-19 Response Project in Turkmenistan. The project with a budget of $20 million, which is financed by the World Bank, is being implemented jointly with the Ministry of Health of Turkmenistan.
As part of the project, in early February, laboratory equipment for PCR diagnostics was delivered to Turkmenistan : 10 Qiagen Rotor Gene Q Plex-6 devices, 10 thermoblocks, 6 microcentrifuges, 6 centrifuges and 6 autoclaves.
