Berdimuhamedov to go into quarantine for three days after trip to China

On February 2, in an interview with Chinese media, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov confirmed his intention to take part in the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing on the 4th.

The next day, at a government meeting, the head of state turned to Deputy Prime Minister for Science and Education, Health and Sports Sapardurdy Toylyev with a request to clarify the prescribed sanitary standards after the return of the Turkmen delegation from China, the state information agency TDH reports .

Toylyev warned that after returning from a business trip, the Turkmen delegation, including the president, would have to go through quarantine. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the shortest period of isolation is 3 days, the average time in quarantine is 10 days, and the longest period is 21 days.

How the period of quarantine is determined, the official did not specify, but Berdymukhammedov said that he and all members of the delegation "will have to be in quarantine for 3 days - Sunday, Monday and Tuesday."

Since Toylyev is a member of the delegation on a working trip to China, the president assigned the temporary (from February 4 to 9) chairman of the Extraordinary Commission on Combating the Spread of Diseases to the deputy chairman of this Commission, Minister of Health and Medical Industry Nurmukhammed Amannepesov .

It should be noted that citizens of Turkmenistan returning from abroad, regardless of the test for coronavirus, must be quarantined in special centers for three weeks.
