On August 31, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with Defense Minister Begench Gundogdyev on the topic of holding a military parade in honor of the Independence Day.

The official presented to the head of state a plan for a solemn military parade, the state information agency TDH reports . Berdimuhamedov approved the plan and gave specific instructions for organizing its implementation.

"Festive events, including the military parade, which will take place in honor of the 30th anniversary of independence, are of great importance in the life of the country and the people, therefore ensuring a high organizational level of their holding is the most important requirement of the day, " the head of state said.

The President also approved the Regulation on the badge of the members of the State Security Council and the Decree on awarding military ranks to a number of military personnel.

The rank of colonel was given to: Lieutenant Colonel Rovshen Ayazov , Lieutenant Colonel Didar Atayev , Lieutenant Colonel Shavkatjan Atakulyev and Lieutenant Colonel Saparmyrat Tuyliyev .

Since 2018, Independence Day has been postponed from October 27 to September 27 without explanation.
