Berdymukhamedov chose a shade for the monument under construction to Makhtumkuli

On September 13, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with the participation of the khyakims of the velayats and the city of Ashgabat, the state information agency TDH reported .

Ashgabat khyakim Rakhym Gandymov reported on the construction of a monument to the Turkmen poet Makhtumkuli Fraghi in the southwestern outskirts of the capital, in the foothills of the Kopetdag.

Gandymov showed a number of sketches of the monument, differing in shades of yellow - from gold to bronze. What the head of state ultimately settled on is not reported.

Berdymukhamedov noted that the improvement of the memorial complex and surrounding areas "must meet modern architectural solutions."

In March this year, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the construction site of the 60-meter Makhtumkuli monument. Then the head of state approved the design of the sculpture, lampposts, benches and trash cans in the surrounding area, as well as the railings on the stairs leading to the monument.

The khyakim also reported on preparations for the celebrations in honor of the 30th anniversary, for the meeting of the Khalk Maslakhaty and for the ceremony of awarding state awards to distinguished citizens. The President instructed to ensure a high level of the planned celebrations.

Then the heads of the regions reported on the construction of facilities, on preparations for the meeting of the Khalk Maslakhaty, for the celebrations and the picking of cotton.
