On 4 September, upon the request of Ashgabat khyakim Shamukhammet Durdylyev President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov flew around the capital in a helicopter to inspect the newly-built facilities.

The state information agency TDH reports that before the flight the designs of new construction projects, which are under construction or are scheduled to be built, had been shown to the President.

Berdymukhammedov controlled the construction progress for Garagum hotel located near the old airport terminal. The construction contract was awarded to Turkey-based RAlnesans in August, 2018. Pursuant to the plan, the facility is scheduled to be commissioned in February 2021.

It has been previously reported that the design of the hotel had been registered with the patent issued by Turkmenistan's State Intellectual Property Service with a view of protecting proprietary architectural designs.

The President called for establishing the park zone to replace the outdated buildings.

Let us recall that the houses in this district were demolished in the summer of 2017. At that time the officials from the khyakimlik's office explained in an informal conversation that the old residential buildings spoiled the external image of the city.

Then Berdymukhammedov flew around Kopetdag foothills. A new hotel complex, located between Yildyz hotel and the historic and cultural reserve Nisa which will resemble the palaces of Parthian kings is scheduled be built on the hills.

From the air the President monitored the mosque which is under construction in the residential district Parakhat-7.

In conclusion the President of Turkmenistan inspected the petrol production facility based on natural gas, which is being built in Ovadandepe, Akhal velayat.

Let us recall that the President last inspected the capital from a helicopter on 23 August, 2018.
