During the meeting with the science and research community of Turkmenistan, which was held on 12 June, it was announced that President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov charged officials from Turkmenistan's Education Ministry with the task of designing a course syllabus to offer vocational training to secondary school students.
The state information agency TDH reports that taking into account that teenagers aged 16 to 18 demonstrate interest to manual jobs, the head of the state emphasized that along with the school subjects, industrial jobs need to be taught to high school students. In this connection khyakim of etraps and cities were instructed to set up business training centres for schoolchildren.
Besides, government officials were charged with the task of launching new types of secondary comprehensive schools, including gymnasiums with indepth study of subjects based on a student's major.
Moreover, pursuant to the economy digitalization program, specialized courses need to be included in the school syllabus whereas curricular of secondary and higher educational establishments should take into account the innovationbased focus of the national economy development.
To improve the financial and economic situation in higher educational establishments, which charge tuition fees, the president ordered gradual transition to full costaccounting basis.
