Berdymukhammedov visits Lebap to control the wheat and potato harvesting campaign

On President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov kicked off his trips around velayats of Turkmenistan to personally control the grain harvesting campaign.

The business trip was launched in Lebap velayat which was seriously affected by the hurricane on 27 April, 2020. However, this topic was not mentioned during meetings with locals.

In the morning of 9 June the President arrived at cultivated area of the daikhan association “Watan” in CHardjev etrap.

“The car of the head of state stopped at the plot of land leased by a land tenant Berdymurat Narmedov, where the President was greeted by the Chairperson of the Majlis, khyakim of Lebap velayats, high-ranking officials of ministries and representatives of media outlets”,  – the state information agency TDH reports.

The farmer explained the head of state how he grows wheat and thanked him for support. The farmers then started the crop harvesting campaign. The dishes of Turkmen cuisine were served for them and the visitors on the fields.

The President familiarized himself with the work of CLAAS and John Deere combine harvesters and inspected the agricultural produce display. Deputy Prime Minister overseeing agriculture Esenmyrat Orazgeldiev told about the features of produce on display. The meeting ended with giving valuable gifts.

Later Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov visited the daikhan association “Tebigy ekin”, which grows vegetables and potatoes. It is owned by a member of Turkmenistan’s Union of Entrepreneurs and Industrialists Rustem Byashimov, who also expressed his gratitude to the head of state for support and talked about a high-yield type of potatoes, according to TDH.

The President congratulated the land tenant with high yield crops of potatoes, presented valuable gifts and inspected the agricultural achievement exhibition of the velayat.

Wrapping up the working visit to the Lebap region, later the same day the President headed to Mary velayat.
