Biden calls for release of detained reporters at Correspondents’ Dinner

United States President Joe Biden called for the immediate release of reporter Evan Gershkovich, who was detained by Russia on espionage charges, as well as Austin Tice, who was kidnapped in Syria in 2012. "Journalism is not a crime," Biden said at the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner, APA reports citing Teletrader.

Biden also addressed concerns about his age, as he is running for re-election as the oldest American president in history. "Call me old? I call it being seasoned. You say I'm ancient? I say I'm wise," the 80-year-old joked. He also commented on Twitter CEO Elon Musk's remarks that National Public Radio (NPR) should be defunded, saying that "the best way to make NPR go away is for Elon Musk to buy it."
