Brazil’s Minister of Environment Highlights Role of Forests in Climate Balance.

Brasilia: Brazil's Minister of Environment and Climate, Marina Silva, underscored the crucial role of forests in maintaining climate balance during a high-level event at COP29. The event, titled "Forests for Climate Finance: Forests for Climate Action," emphasized the multifaceted importance of forests, which Silva described as a source of both visual and acoustic beauty, providing natural melodies. According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Silva pointed out that preserved, protected, and restored forests are essential allies in the global fight against climate change. She highlighted the disproportionate impact of climate change on the world's poorest and most vulnerable populations, noting that these communities face increased poverty, hunger, and inequality. Silva argued that forest protection extends beyond ecological concerns, serving as a means to ensure inclusive progress and promote a just transition for all.
