Baku: The date for the Cabinet of Ministers to present its annual report to the Milli Majlis is set to change, APA reports. The change is reflected in the draft law included in the agenda of the Milli Majlis session to be held on May 16. This draft law pertains to amendments to the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan 'On Additional Guarantees for the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Resolving the Issue of Confidence in the Cabinet of Ministers.'
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, under the current law, the Cabinet presents its report during the fifth meeting of the spring session each year. However, with the proposed amendment, the Cabinet will now be required to submit its annual report to the Milli Majlis by March 31 during the spring session.
This adjustment aims to provide the parliament with the report earlier in the year, facilitating a more timely review and discussion of the Cabinet's performance and plans. The proposal is part of ongoing efforts to refine the legislative framework governing the relationship between the Cabinet of Ministers and the Milli Majlis.
