HAJIGABUL: A tragic accident in the Hajigabul district of Azerbaijan has resulted in the death of a young child and left four others injured. The incident occurred on the Baku-Gazakh highway when a VAZ 2107 vehicle collided with a speeding Mercedes, leading to a series of collisions with parked cars.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Yusif Gahramanov Zamin, born in 2016, suffered severe skull and brain injuries and succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The accident involved multiple family members from Sabirabad, including Gunel Gahramanova Vilayat, born in 2018, Amina Gahramanova Fikrat, born in 1996, and Vilayat Gahramanli Rizakhan, born in 1990. In addition, Elvin Sariyev Elshan, a Baku resident born in 2016, was among the injured.
The collision took place as the VAZ 2107 attempted a turning maneuver and entered the path of the Mercedes, which was traveling at high speed. The impact caused the VAZ 2107 to veer off the road, striking other parked vehicles in front of a restaurant. The injured parties were transported to Shirvan City Hospital for treatment, while two others received outpatient care.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident to determine the exact cause and any possible liabilities.
