A meeting with UNDP Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan Elena Panova, held at the Civil Service Academy under the President of Turkmenistan, focused on the prospects of cooperation within the framework of the joint project with UNDP. The project is aimed at enhancing the potential of the public administration system, training public servants and introducing innovative methods into the educational programmes.
The multi-aspect cooperation of the UN agencies with the parliamentarians of Turkmenistan, the representatives of ministries and departments, local authorities, political parties, public organisations, higher educational institutions on the introduction of international practices into the public administration system has significantly widened over recent years.
The cooperation envisages a number of joint informative, educational and consultative events, aimed at improving the legal and institutional basis of public administration.
The meeting participants discussed the plan of joint events. In particular, a course of lectures on the legal and institutional basis of public administration at the international and national level; international law; international anti-corruption methods will be delivered at the Academy.
It is also planned to organize a study tour to Astana for the teachers and students of the Academy with the aim to learn more about the international practices in improving qualification of public servants and international anti-corruption methods.
The annual working plan includes a number of round-table meetings and seminars with the participation of international experts on electronic document management, strategic management and planning as well as the estimate of requirements in improving social services offered to the population.
