Eight Congolese young people will study at the Baku Higher Oil School of SOCAR (BHOS) during the 2024-2025 academic year within the bachelor’s degree programs in Petroleum Engineering and Chemical Engineering. This will take place within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding on Training concluded between the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the National Oil Company of Congo. The document was signed by President of SOCAR Rovshan Najaf and General Director of the National Oil Company of the Republic of Congo Maixent Raoul Ominga. An online meeting was organized in order to implement this cooperation. BHOS Rector Elmar Gasimov, General Director of the National Oil Company of the Republic of Congo Maixent Raoul Ominga, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Francophonie and Congolese abroad of the Republic of Congo Qi Itua, and Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to the Republic of Congo Sultan Hajiyev with residence in Nairobi attended the meeting. One of the students will study on a SOCAR scho larship, while the tuition fees of the remaining seven students will be covered by the National Oil Company of the Republic of Congo. Elmar Gasimov said that this cooperation will play an important role in the formation of Congolese students as professional specialists, enabling them to make significant contributions to the Congolese economy. He also expressed confidence that this collaboration will build new educational bridges between the two nations. For his part, Maixent Raoul Ominga expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation and emphasized that Baku Higher Oil School is a leader in the field of engineering education. He noted that BHOS is known for its modern teaching methods and high level of professionalism, which will greatly contribute to the academic and professional development of Congolese youth. Qi Itua also wished success for the successful continuation of this cooperation and the implementation of wider projects in the future. Emphasizing the importance of cooperation, Ambassador Sultan Hajiyev noted that this initiative will further strengthen the friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries.
