Construction of the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat highway will be completed in 2023

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the Resolution authorizing Turkmen Awtoban to build the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat highway.

The company is a member of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, acting as a customer and general contractor of the project.

According to the state information agency TDH , the work will begin in January 2019 and will be completed in late 2023. In particular, the Ashgabat-Tejen section should be completed in December 2020, the Tejen Mary section - in December 2022; Mary-Turkmenabat section - in December 2023.

The project cost is $ 2.3 billion.

Recall that the Turkmen companies were entrusted with the construction of the Ashgabat-Turkmenabad and Ashgabat-Turkmenbashi highways after the Turkish Polimex refused to offer the authorities to build an autobahn at their own expense and cover the costs from the profits that the toll road would bring in the future. .

On December 17, vice-premier for construction Dadebay Amangeldyev presented the president with a project to build the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat road, the length of which will be 600 kilometers. Along the highway, payment terminals, motels and parking lots will be installed.
