This document, intended for ten years, is based on the analysis of regional and world markets' state, existing and forecasted demand on gas chemical productions. It was presented to the President of Turkmenistan at the Government session on June 23.
In particular, it is planned to reconstruct natural gas processing and liquefied gas production installations at Bagaja Field, Lebap Velayat and to build gas chemical complex for production of 80 thousand tons of Styrene-Butadiene Rubber and 45 thousand tons of polystyrene per annum.
Installation for production of 13 thousand tons of liquefied gas per year is planned to be built at Tyoreshikh Field located in Tahtabazar etrap, Mary Velayat.
Large investment project is proposed for realization at the deposits of the central Karakums next to gas compressor installation Yilanly in Dashoguz Velayat. It stipulates the construction of the plant for processing of 22 billion cu. M. of natural gas and production of 70 thousand tons of liquefied gas per annum. The second phase of the facilities of this plant is expected to produce 200 thousand tons of low-density polyethylene per annum.
Plant for production of 200 thousand tons of low-density linear polyethylene, 390 thousand tons of polypropylene, 100 thousand tons of polyvinyl chloride, 10 thousand tons of liquefied gas, 82 thousand tons of caustic soda and 10 thousand tons of hydrochloric acid per year is planned to be built in Kiyanly Settlement, Balkan Velayat.
Besides, it is targeted to build the installation for production of Methyl diethanolamine (MDEA) from the processing of 4 thousand tons of ethylene and 2 thousand tons of methanol per year. At present moment, this chemical is imported to our country in large volumes.
Another installation for production of 15 thousand tons of formaldehyde per year, which is to be produced from carbamide and methanol from the enterprises of the State Concern Turkmenhimiya located in Mary Velayat.
According to the experts' forecasts, the demand for A-95 gasoline and diesel fuel will increase twice by 2030. Following that, complex of measures for further increase of production powers of Turkmenbashy and Seydi refineries was developed.
Number of other investment projects were presented for review to the Head of the State. Their implementation is planned for the account of increase of oil and gas production. It was highlighted that the development of gas chemical industry would promote industrialization of regions, diversification of national economy, increase of production of import substitutive and export goods, which is highly demanded international markets.
