Contactless payment cards will be introduced in Turkmenistan

The joint stock commercial bank Rysgal is completing the process of introducing the international payment system MasterCard, the state news agency TDH reported on September 24 .

Using the cards of this payment system, Turkmenistan will introduce the technology of instant payments without entering a PIN code, both domestically and abroad. However, for this, TDH emphasizes, special payment terminals will be required.

The publication reports that contactless payments without the need to enter a PIN code will be limited to 50 manat ($ 14.28 at the official rate ).

The fact that Rysgal Bank intends to join the international payment system MasterCard was announced at a Cabinet meeting on January 11 of this year.

It should be noted that at present there are problems in Turkmenistan even with the use of conventional bank cards. The population often cannot cash money from them. The ability to pay for goods by credit cards is complicated due to constant system failures, weak Internet and incompetent staff.
