Cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and EU is a priority – head of Cabinet

The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Japarov met with the Executive Vice President of the European Commission, European Commissioner for Trade Valdis Dombrovskis as part of his working trip to Almaty (Republic of Kazakhstan).

The parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in the trade and economic sphere. Akylbek Japarov noted that cooperation with the European Union is a priority for the Kyrgyz Republic.

«We are pleased with the development of trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties between the Kyrgyz Republic and the European Union. The European Union is one of the important trade and economic partners and one of the main investors,» he said.

Valdis Dombrovskis noted the high rate of trade between the parties in recent years and expressed readiness for further cooperation in various fields.

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic and the European Union signed a joint document within the framework of Green Economy in the Kyrgyz Republic Programme, which will be funded by the EU.
