The Days of Culture of the Republic of Korea, held in honor of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two friendly countries, started with the opening of the Korean Film Festival in Turkmenistan.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Days of Korean Culture, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Turkmenistan Sungchul Shin emphasized the importance of this large-scale cultural event, designed to strengthen trust and mutual understanding between the peoples of the two states.
The program of the three-day film screening, organized at the Ashgabat cinema in the capital, consists of full-length feature films created by Korean filmmakers in recent years.
Also, within the framework of the Days of Korean Culture, the Magtymguly National Music and Drama Theater will host a presentation and tasting of popular dishes of national Korean cuisine, a show of the traditional hanbok costume, as well as a joint concert of the State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan and the Korean Gugak Quartet.
The events are organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Turkmenistan with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Education and the administration of Ashgabat.
