Deadline to appeal district poll commission rulings to Azerbaijani CEC expires – chairman

BAKU: The deadline for filing complaints to the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan against decisions of district election commissions has expired, CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov said during today's CEC meeting in Baku, Trend reports. 'We'll consider all appeals. The final protocols regarding the parliamentary election will be sent to the Constitutional Court,' he added. To note, based on legislation, final Azerbaijani parliamentary election protocols must reach the Constitutional Court by September 22. The snap parliamentary election was held in Azerbaijan on September 1. A total of 112,749 local observers were registered, including over 65,000 representatives of political parties. There were 598 international observers from 51 organizations and 69 countries. Among the 990 registered candidates, 305 represented 25 political parties, while 371 were party members but were not nominated by their parties.
