A delegation from Kyrgyzstan, consisting of representatives of the Secretariat of the National Council for Trade Facilitation in the Kyrgyz Republic, with the support of the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek, took part in the 40th UN/CEFACT Forum in Geneva (Switzerland) from 8 to 10 May 2023. The United Nations Centre for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business Anniversary Forum plays a key role in shaping the future of trade facilitation, global trade and supply chain management. More than 30 interactive sessions were held on the sidelines of the Forum, with the participation of representatives of 55 countries of the world, dedicated to a number of topics that contribute to further simplification of customs and trade procedures, the growth of global trade, and the search for new opportunities in world trade. The 40th Forum became a milestone, as for the first time among the countries of Central Asia, Nurbek Maksutov was appointed head of the delegation from the Kyrgyz Republic to UN/CEFACT. It should be noted that one of the main sessions was the consideration of issues on overcoming disruptions in global supply chains and potential ways to solve them, including with the help of digital solutions and tools developed by UN/CEFACT, where the delegate from the Kyrgyz Republic - the head of the Secretariat of the National Council for Trade Facilitation under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic Aidarbek Samykbaev took part as a speaker at the panel session, who also informed the Forum participants about the intermediate results of the implementation of the National Council for Trade Facilitation Roadmap activities. In addition, the Forum discussed key issues that are relevant for Kyrgyzstan, for example, the experience of applying UN/CEFACT standards in the implementation of the Roadmap for 2019-2025
